Closure of the Handsworth Church Buiding Project

Following a vote at the 4th October 2026 Church Business Meeting, the church voted to close the current building project.

We acknowledge with sincere gratitude the generosity and commitment of everyone who has contributed to the project over more than twenty years.

The church is seeking legal advice through the North England Conference, to establish an appropriate process for the repayment and disbursement of the remaining funds. This requires careful consideration, as donations were received through various methods, and some donors have since passed away.

The repayment process will begin as soon as the legal advisers have established the appropriate repayment methodology and drawn up a disbursement plan. Until that work is completed, we cannot confirm individual entitlements, repayment amounts or a timetable.

Further information, including how donors or representatives of their estates can submit relevant details, will be provided once the process has been established.
