Personal Ministries
Empowering Our Congregation
Guided By The Holy Spirit, Committed To The Gospel
Introduction
The Personal Ministries (PM) Department at Handsworth SDA Church (HSDAC) plays a pivotal role in equipping our congregation with the necessary resources and training. Under the divine guidance of the Holy Spirit and through continual prayer, we are dedicated to spreading the life-transforming gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ.

Biblical Strategy For Disciple-Making Evangelism
Endorsed by HSDAC, our strategy for evangelism emulates Christ’s own approach, ensuring Total Member Involvement. This method can be likened to an agricultural journey:
Preparing the Heart: We begin by nurturing relationships through friendship and service.
Sowing Seeds of Truth: Using literature, media, and personal invitations, we gently introduce the gospel.
Cultivating Spiritual Growth: We foster a deeper connection with God through ongoing Bible studies.
Harvesting Commitment: Through personal and public appeals, we invite decisions for Christ, leading to baptism.
Preserving the Harvest: Our journey continues by supporting new believers with ongoing nurture and evangelistic training.
Empowering Members: Personal Ministry and Community Outreach
Engaging in Personal Ministry:
Our department actively encourages every member to: Foster a Personal Connection with God: Highlighting the importance of personal devotions, family worship, and an active prayer life.
Develop Skills in Personal Evangelism:
Training includes praying, befriending, inviting others to church events and Bible studies, distributing literature, and mentoring.
Participate in Ongoing Evangelism:
We maintain an active interest list and support each member with a personalised disciple-making plan.
Collaborative and Community Outreach:
The HSDAC PM team is proud of its collaborative efforts with various church departments. Together, we have organised Health Expos, the ‘Secrets of Prophecy’ 24-week online course, and fundraising initiatives for the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA). Our commitment extends to supporting the weekly food bank, distributing literature like the ‘Great Controversy,’ and mentoring new church members, all culminating in our annual evangelistic events designed to win souls for Christ.
Our Prayer
Our loving God, we praise You for allowing us to participate in Your mission on this planet. Thank You for the joy of service and the joy of engaging in the work of bringing people to You. Sometimes we feel discouraged and ready to give up, but we pray that You will give us the perseverance and spiritual grit needed to do the work You have called us to do. Thank You that You will bless and that we will see the fruit of this blessed ministry. Amen.
