Fostering Connections Through Faith and Fellowship
A Commitment To Service
At the core of Handsworth Church, the Deacon and Deaconess Department embodies our mission to serve – both within our church walls and beyond. Our dedication to the community and church members is unwavering, as we engage in meaningful acts of service that reflect our faith in action.
Our Objectives
Biblical Inspiration: “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” – Ephesians 2:10
Welcoming and Supporting: Our primary goal is to ensure that visitors and new members feel at home. We strive to extend a warm welcome, offer friendship, and provide the necessary support as they integrate into our community.
Meeting Needs: We meet visitors and new members at their point of need, guiding them to appropriate department members for specialized support.
Inspirational Literature: Distributing inspiring literature that uplifts and educates, reinforcing our commitment to spiritual growth.
Collaboration: Working closely with other church departments to create a cohesive and supportive environment for all.
Friendship Month: An initiative encouraging members to bring family and friends to church.
Welcome Lunch: Hosting meals for new visitors to foster a sense of community.
Ongoing Communication: Maintaining contact with visitors through phone and email to nurture relationships.
